Our story…

Clear Focus has evolved from broadcast television to global course creation. We have continued to grow and embrace our changing technological world whilst maintaining our high professional standards of good stories, with impact, told well.

We like to listen to quiet voices, speaking with conviction about subjects they feel passionate about.

Clear Focus offers technical expertise and a deep understanding of how people learn. We build longstanding, respectful relationships, both with freelance associates and with partner organisations, and relish the chance to learn about their areas of expertise.

Gail Block

Senior Producer

Gail is a film-maker with an immersive knowledge of media design for effective learning. An experienced producer-director, her films have appeared on the BBC, Futurelearn, Openlearn, and Channel 4. Her educational consultancy is based on postgraduate studies of visual learning.

Phil Gauron

Founder

Phil started his career as a science teacher before turning to TV and educational video production. His award-winning films, cutting edge educational media, and efficient production management have won him the respect of numerous academic clients.

Penny Boreham

Audio producer

At BBC World Service, Penny’s output combined radio documentary and award-winning radio drama. She now works as a freelancer in her own right as well as for Clear Focus, and produces radio for BBC Radio 4, BBC World Service and NGOs.
